Policies

The Full Story

In an effort to assure that there are no misunderstandings, we have outlined some points of potential confusion concerning our cake policies. We ask that you carefully read and sign the form stating that you fully understand these policies. 

Lead Time- When placing an order, please order at least 10 days in advance. If order is placed less than one week in advance, a rush fee of 50% of the total may be added depending on the order type. For weddings, payment must be made in full by 30 days prior to the event/pickup date for orders placed 31+ days before the event/pickup date. A rush fee of up to 50% may be applied if payment is not made by the 30 day mark and is subject to the discretion of Florida Peach Sweets. 

Matching colors- We make every possible effort to match your colors, however, when requesting a specific color, to get as close as possible you must provide us with a color swatch. When working with food grade dyes, perfect color matches are sometimes impossible. Dark colored icings have a tendency to darken further with time, humidity, and heat. The darker colors may also stain teeth. 

Deliveries - Deliveries are taken on a first come, first served basis and must be arranged with a practical concern for the delivered product. Therefore, we reserve the right to make delivery decisions based on our experience of what is best for the cake. Our delivery charges are based on difficulty and distance from our location. If no one is at the site at the time of delivery or if we cannot gain entry into the building, then the cake will not be delivered. The responsibility for the delivery then becomes yours. Please take time to confirm the time of delivery with the reception site so this does not happen. Delivery is charged at $0.75/mile with a starting base fee of $20.00 per hour, which will vary depending on location. Once cakes or desserts are in the custody of the customer, Florida Peach Sweets is no longer liable for the condition and appearance of the desserts. Proper delivery and care instructions are provided upon receiving of said desserts or cake. The customer must disclose any adverse road hazards and/or obstacles that may inhibit safe delivery and quality of finished products. In the case of an unavoidable occurrence, such as an act of god, a car accident, poor road conditions, or dropping of cake during delivery — Florida Peach Sweets cannot be held liable for more than the price of the cake described in the order. 

Cake Care - Cakes should be brought out of refrigeration 1-2 hours prior to serving in order to present the best texture and quality of product. If refrigeration is not required or not available, desserts (cakes in particular) should be stored in a cool, dry environment and out of direct sunlight. Because our cakes and desserts are scratch made and lack shelf-stabling preservatives of store bought cakes, they must be properly stored to ensure freshness. If cakes or desserts are not properly stored, Florida Peach Sweets is not held liable for quality, taste, etc. Sliced cake that could be exposed to air should be wrapped in plastic wrap and stored within a cake box if possible. Because cake is better off at room temperature, refrigeration should only be used if it contains perishable materials or if the room in which it is stored rises above 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Cake and desserts can be frozen if needed by properly wrapping them first. Please understand we cannot control changes in texture or changes in color or shape due to weather conditions. Desserts other than cakes will be provided with specific storing information on a case by case basis to each customer. Delivery time will be at the sole discretion of Florida Peach Sweets and will be best coordinated along with the timeline of events for the day. 

Flowers and Florists - Regarding the use of fresh flowers on cakes or desserts not placed by Florida Peach Sweets, the responsibility of the flower safety and safe food practices will rest with the florist providing floral. We are not responsible for any damage done to said cake or desserts or change in appearance should a florist or other individual be responsible for placing floral/decor. 

Allergies - Please be aware that although we have strict processes in place to prevent cross-contamination there is still a slight risk of the presence of any allergen. We are not an allergen free kitchen.

Refunds - Refund requests due to decorating style, color shade or general decoration design will not be honored or considered. Cake flavor and texture is subjective. Refunds requested due to flavor or texture after cake has been accepted and picked up will be at the sole discretion of Florida Peach Sweets. In order to avoid this occurrence, and if it is a true concern of the customer, a sampling of the product is encouraged before placing an order. Please know, we taste our cakes and desserts to ensure the highest quality. 

Deposit and Payments - To secure the date for your wedding cake you must place a $75 deposit if your order exceeds $100, or a 50% deposit if your order is less than $100. This is a reservation fee that goes toward your final balance and holds your date. If the deposit is not paid by the date on the initial invoice, the date will not be held. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another cake/order if you (unless otherwise approved):

1) Cancel your wedding/event 

2) Decide to use another bakery 

3) Change your wedding/event date - will be dependent upon our availability

4) Any other reason that might cause Florida Peach Sweets to turn down other business to fulfill our obligation to your order. 

Payment is non-refundable should cancellation occur within 10 days of your order's event/pickup date. Cancellations made prior to this timeline may result in a partial refund but is at the sole discretion of Florida Peach Sweets. 

Final Payment-  All orders must be completely paid for by the due date on the invoice. Wedding orders must be paid at least 30 days prior to the event (unless otherwise approved). If the final payment/balance is not paid by the due date on the invoice, a rush fee will be applied. 

Changes- Changes to an existing order: size, style, flavor, or filling will be accepted until 30 days prior to the wedding. After that we cannot accept any changes. For all other orders, changes can be made up until the due date on the invoice.
